DECIPHA MOBILE CAPTURE APP
BOURNE DIGITAL | UX DESIGN & UI DESIGN
Decipha are a business of Australia Post that develop customised solutions to collect, process and deliver incoming information.
We were given a challenge to create a proof of concept of a mobile capture app with the ability to scan & lodge a document. I was involved throughout the entire UX process of research, discovery, prototyping, testing and delivery. I worked closely with users and stakeholders from Decipha and Australia Post and facilitated an Innovation Workshop. Our finished product was a tangible prototype, which is used to demonstrate Decipha’s future services and capabilities to clients.
RESEARCH - DISCOVER
We spent the first week of the project interviewing users, stakeholders and specialists to get the best understanding of the problem from as many perspectives as possible. We were lucky to be involved with such engaged stakeholders who involved user interviews from Day 1 of the project.
RESEARCH - DEFINE
We synthesized our research into key personas and journey maps to communicate pain points and frustrations to stakeholders. At the end of week two we ran an Innovation Design Studio with 12 participants including users, stakeholders and specialists. We split the participants into 3 groups where each focussed on a key scenario and iterated through a number of paper prototypes. It was amazing how engaged & passionate all the participants were. The workshops was pivotal to our project as we were able to use the insights & outcomes from users to kick off our design process.
DESIGN - PROTOTYPE & TEST
We ran AB testing with users on paper prototypes to gain feedback & direction for the design of the main dashboard. We moved key screens into medium fidelity using Sketch & InVision & spent the whole week user testing, gaining feedback & making iterations. The main concerns from testing was confusion with particular naming conventions & were met with conflicting feedback from users. We addressed these concerns by promoting users with questions to give more context & clarity.
